Last Minute Giving

I know it's kind of late in the game to be thinking about Christmas gifts, but not for me.  I always wait until December to start my Christmas celebration.  Short and sweet makes it more meaningful to me.

We do not give many material or commercial gifts.  We give books, donate to charity in people's names, and give a few homemade items.

It's not to late to donate in someone's name.  Many charities budgets rely heavily on year-end giving.  Below are a few charities that you may consider donating to.

Feed someone, long-term, with these charities:

Feeding America
Worldvision
Heifer.org

Mental Health Charities

  1. Kiva is our favorite! And they're loans, so you can re-lend the money you get paid back as well. We're helping a family in Uganda set up a store. They send you updates too, which makes it really neat.

  2. I'm a Kiva fan too, but this year I'm giving mostly homemade gifts (edibles and photo gifts because I'm not crafty!). Last year I was away from my family and bought all of the gifts online to save on postage, so it was all charity donations, movie tickets and magazine subscriptions. It was the easiest shopping I've ever done!
